Phlebotomy Technician Program
Health care has become widely considered by both the public and the medical community as being in critical need of qualified personnel. It is predicted that 189,000 new medical positions will become available in Florida over the next seven years. To fulfill the growing need, Ultimate Medical Academy (UMA) has designed an accredited Phlebotomy Technician Program that trains individuals for entry level employment as a Phlebotomy Technician in just seven weeks. Students will learn how a phlebotomist draws blood for clinical diagnostic purposes and how the specimen is processed for results. Phlebotomists inject fluids, extract blood samples, and inject drugs to treat many conditions. Students taught by Ultimate Medical Academy’s trained staff will quickly become familiar with blood collection procedures. They will learn how to utilize standard phlebotomy equipment, safety and medical ethics and related medical terminology. UMA prides itself in teaching its students excellent hand coordination techniques, as well as communication and customer service skills.
The program at Ultimate Medical Academy includes not only class and course work but also supervised internships at local healthcare facilities. Through these internships, students gain the valuable hands on experience that make them competitive to employers.
Upon completion of the phlebotomy technician program, graduates will receive a Certificate and will be qualified to sit for the National Health Career Certified Phlebotomy Technician Exam. Graduates can look forward to job placement in hospitals, labs, medical offices, and clinics. Ultimate Medical Academy also provides job placement assistance for UMA graduates.
